 On 4 October, 2017 association “Peaceful and Business Caucasus” APBC and its partner organization in Tbilisi “Society for Future Generation” with the support of EU and UNDP joint development initiative COBERM III organized the presentation of primary results of the study conducted  within the framework of medical humanitarian project “defeat mistrust and build peace”. Presentation took place at Ilia Chavchavadze National Library Conference hall. 

 

Apart from Project management, 60 people attended the event: from the ministry of reintegration, from Georgian parliament, international organizations, representatives from NGOs and beneficiaries from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The objective of the event was informing society about the results of the study, assessing already accomplished results, also initiating discussion about solving several problems. These objectives were achieved.  Present society was informed, that 555 patients from Abkhazia and South Ossetia received qualified medical care, as well as logistic and other kinds of the services.

Event participants positively evaluated study results and admitted its role over peace and confidence building.

Problems were identified; solving them would further increase the efficiency of this project and generally the efficiency of Georgian government referral program.

Project title: “Deepening the Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Ossetian integration process by promoting long-term, coalition and network cooperation in the civil sector.”

The project aims to develop Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-Ossetian business and civil partnerships, build trust through non-governmental sector coalition work, expand and deepen integration processes, and create the preconditions for a positive conflict transformation by crossing border crossings. “Strengthening the existing coalition resource centers (in Khurcha and Perevi), developing the newly established Georgian-Abkhazian-Ossetian network of community centers, and supporting partnership business projects.”

In May 2014, Association “Peaceful and Business Caucasus” (APBC), with the support of a joint EU-UNDP initiative COBERM 2, started the project “Georgian and Abkhazian communities for plant protection, clean and healthy environment.”

The project is implemented by the Georgian and Abkhazian sides in Zugdidi, Gali and Ochamchire districts on the 5 km Black Sea line and covers area from Riv. Enguri to Riv. Ghalidzga.

The project includes destruction of huphantria cunea , Lymantria Dispar and other pests, with active informational working with the population, their mobilization and engagement.

The project aims to improve access to different kinds of health humanitarian aid for South Ossetian and Abkhazian patients without Georgian citizenship, who are unable to participate in the public insurance programs.

 

Project - "Enhanced  communication, humanity and support  for meeting unaddressed medical needs in conflict zones, ensure confidence building and peace protection" supported by a joint EU-UNDP initiative COBERM 2 and the Dutch government. - 2/04/2013-22/04/2014.
